An audit is a basic element that informs the decision making processes in any capital market.  Every company requires the wise and judicious counsel of an independent audit.

For an audit to be successful, it should not been seen as a routine process performed only because it is required by law.  A successful audit is rooted in an understanding of the industry, market and positioning of every client and performed in an independent manner.

A financial audit should focus on:

  1.  An understanding of the external risks that can affect the business model;
  2.  An understanding of the process that each company uses to mitigate these risks and to represent these risks in their financial statements; and,
  3.  An understanding of the type of transactions in which the company is engaged and how these transactions can be represented accurately in the company’s financial statements.
